Do I have to be fully vaccinated to get a massage?
No, you don’t need to be fully vaccinated to get a massage.
Regardless of vaccination status, if you have any signs of illness (not just covid symptoms) please do not attend the clinic. You can reschedule your appointment to another time when you are well.
You can find my covid policy here.
What are the benefits of massage?
Massage promotes relaxation of the body and mind. It can help you manage stress, relieve aches and pains, improve sleep quality, and generally increases your feeling of wellbeing. Massage can contribute to the maintenance of good health, and the prevention of stress related illness.
What type of massage can I get?
I offer remedial massage, relaxation massage and pregnancy massage.
How long will my massage be?
For pregnancy massage I offer 75 or 90 minute appointments.
For all other massage treatments I offer 60, 75 and 90 minute treatments.
All appointments include up to 15 minutes for pre treatment consultation.
Is there any paperwork I have to fill in?
If you are a new client, then yes. It’s important that I obtain some details about your health history before any massage takes place.
You’ll receive a text message or email with a form to be completed before your appointment.
It’s a requirement that I have to meet to maintain my association membership, to maintain my public indemnity insurance, and to meet the requirements of health insurance providers too.
Returning clients can leave the paperwork to me.
What should I wear?
Most of my clients have their massage while wearing only underwear. You are covered by several towels or a sheet, and the only area uncovered will be the area I am massaging.
What massage oils do you use?
I currently use hempseed oil or fractionated coconut oil.
I’m pregnant. Can I get a massage?
Yes! I am a Pregnancy Massage specialist, having trained with Pregnancy Massage Australia in 2018. For most women, massage during pregnancy is perfectly safe.
The first trimester requires a few small adjustments in position to ensure comfort, and in the second and third trimester a side lying position is usually the most comfortable.
If you have experienced any complications during pregnancy (past or present) you may require medical clearance from your prenatal care team, GP or specialist before any massage treatment is undertaken. Examples of when this would occur include Pre Eclampsia, blood pressure above 140/90 or unstable blood pressure, cardiac disorders, placenta praevia, cervical weakness, kidney conditions including cystitis.
Conditions where massage is not an option include Eclampsia, HELLP Syndrome, undiagnosed bleeding, pitted oedema, deep vein thrombosis or any other blood clotting disorder.
If you have any questions that I haven’t addressed in the FAQ, please feel free to contact me to discuss if massage is suitable for your circumstances.

I have a chronic illness or condition. Can I get a massage?
In most cases the answer is yes. Massage treatments can be an excellent way to manage chronic pain and enhance or maintain joint mobility for example. Massage can be useful in improving general feelings of wellbeing too.
I have worked in the aged care and palliative massage area so I have lots of experience customising massages to suit individuals.
I have an autoimmune disease myself, so I know the ups and downs of managing chronic pain and this insight really helps me look after my clients.
I have an injury. Will massage help me?
If it’s a recent soft tissue injury (in the last 48 hours) you may be better to go to your doctor or physiotherapist rather than seeking a massage. If there is a lots of pain, inflammation and/or heat, then it’s best to avoid massage of that area until those symptoms have subsided.
Otherwise, just let me know about your injury when you’re booking your appointment.
What are your qualifications?
I have completed a Diploma of Remedial Therapy in 2019 and a Certificate IV in Massage Therapy in 2009.
These qualifications mean I can provide Remedial and Relaxation Massage treatments.
I am also a Pregnancy Massage Specialist, having completed the Practitioner of Pregnancy Massage qualification in 2018, and can treat pregnant clients throughout their entire pregnancy.
I am a member of Massage and Myotherapy Australia and am registered with health insurance providers.
Can I claim health insurance rebates?
- Rebates are available for remedial treatments only, and are also dependent on things such as your level of cover, and any caps that may apply etc.
- Sometimes insurance providers will not provide rebates for remedial treatments if they are more than 60 minutes in duration, again this depends on your policy.
- Pregnancy massage treatments with me are considered remedial treatments.
- For appointments at The Tiny Clinic, a receipt with claim details will be emailed to you after you have had your treatment and payment has been made in full.
- If you are redeeming a gift card you will not be able to claim health insurance rebates (that’s the insurers decision, not mine)
How do I pay for my massage?
- At The Tiny Clinic you can pay by credit card or eftpos on my Square device.
Do you have gift cards?
- Gift cards for massage at The Tiny Clinic can be purchased here
- Health insurance rebates are not available for treatments paid for by gift card.
